The snow has melted in Sunriver, but there's still plenty of fun to be had at Mount Bachelor and the local Sno Parks around the Cascade Lakes area! Our favorite spot to get some snow play in close to Sunriver is the Edison Sno Park.
Only about 15 minutes from Sunriver, Edison often has snow well into April, and kids love the easy loop trail options at this sno park, as well as the warming huts, which are perfect for lunch or a snack. Rent cross-country skis or snowshoes and head out for a day of adventure!
Getting there: from the Village, exit Sunriver and head South/West on S. Century (towards Mt. Bachelor), and continue on this road as it becomes Spring River/FS 45. Edison is about 12 miles up on the left side of the road.
Trail options:
The Snowshoe Short Loop, with a stop at the Edison Shelter is the perfect length snowshoe for younger kids. Older kids may want to explore even more! The Lightbulb Loop to the Edison Shelter or Direct Current to the DC Shelter are great cross country ski options.
You'll Need: Sunscreen, snacks, water & a Sno Park Pass
